Dounia Benslimane

Ms. Dounia Benslimane has worked in the field of culture and development since 2008. In 2011, Benslimane became the director of “La Fondation des Arts Vivants,” as well as the coordinator of an urban arts venue, “Fabrique Culturelle des Anciens Abattoirs of Casablanca.” She is also co-founder and executive director of Association Racines. Benslimane has managed several projects in Morocco and Africa such as the General States of Culture in Morocco, a cultural policy advocacy project; Artwatch Africa, which monitors the freedom of creative expression; and Afrifestnet, an African festival network. Benslimane is also member of the board of the Roberto Cimetta Fund, Oracle Cultural Network and other Moroccan arts and culture associations. Benslimane received the European Diploma on Cultural Projects Management of Marcel Hicter Association in 2014.
