Sarah Kayondo is the Director of Operational Strategy at Educate!. She first heard about Educate! from her son who was studying in one of Educate!’s partner schools. Sarah is inspired by the attitude and leadership quality of the youth that undergo Educate!’s skills course; they are change makers.
Prior to becoming the Director of Operational Strategy, Sarah was the Uganda Country Director at Educate!. As Country Director, Sarah oversaw internal and external communications in Uganda, reviewed performance goals and financial operations, and ensured annual goals were set and achieved. She also built an optimized HR structure to handle changes and growth in staff structure related to scaling.
Formerly the Head of HR at TechnoServe Uganda, Sarah is a graduate of Makerere University and Uganda Management Institute. She is a teacher by profession and very passionate about education. She believes in Nelson Mandela’s words: “Education is the most powerful tool you can use to change the world,” and she believes Educate! is doing just that. “Educate! has given me an opportunity to work towards improving the education system in my country and I feel blessed”, she says. In her free time, Sarah loves to travel, discover new things, learn about other cultures, and eat good food
