Walé Adeosun

Mr. Walé Adeosun, CFA, is the founder, CEO and chief investment officer of Kuramo Capital Management, a Securities and Exchange Commission registered investment management firm with $300 million in assets. Kuramo Capital focuses on investing in sub-Saharan Africa and has offices located in New York, Lagos, Nigeria and Nairobi, Kenya.

Adeosun is the chairman of the Nigeria Higher Education Foundation (NHEF), a New York based foundation founded by the MacArthur Foundation that focuses on assisting Nigerian Universities in becoming self-sustaining. The NHEF currently supports five Nigerian Universities: Ahmadu Bello University, Bayero University, University of Ibadan, University of Port Harcourt and the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.

Previously, Adeosun was treasurer and chief investment officer at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), where he managed $1 billion in endowment and pension assets. Prior to that position, he was a managing director of the investment group at The John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation in Chicago, where he was responsible for more than $2 billion in assets.

Adeosun is a member of President Obama’s Advisory Council on Doing Business in Africa (PAC-DBIA) and formerly served as chair of the Investment Advisory Committee for the $180 Billion New York Pension Fund.
